Apple enforces two-factor authentication (2FA) on all Apple Developer accounts. This means every time you — or someone else — logs in from a new device or location, a verification code is sent to a trusted phone number or device. Without access to that code, you can't get in.
For purchased developer accounts, this creates a practical challenge: how do you receive those SMS codes if the phone number isn't yours? The answer we use is simple, fast, and secure: a dedicated Telegram chat.
How Standard 2FA Works on Apple Accounts
Apple's 2FA sends a 6-digit code via SMS to the phone number registered on the account. You enter this code alongside your password to complete login. This code is time-sensitive — it expires in minutes — so you need instant access to it.
The problem with most resold accounts is that the original phone number is no longer accessible, or the SIM card is controlled by a third party you don't know. This creates uncertainty and delays exactly when you need speed.
🔒 Our solution: after account delivery, we add you to a private Telegram chat. Every SMS that arrives on the account's registered number is forwarded to that chat in real time.
Why Telegram for 2FA Delivery?
We chose Telegram as the 2FA delivery channel for several reasons:
- Real-time delivery: SMS codes appear in your chat within seconds of being sent to the phone number
- No app install needed: if you already use Telegram (and most developers do), zero friction
- Message history: codes are logged in the chat, so if you missed a notification, you can scroll back
- Encrypted channel: Telegram's end-to-end encryption on secret chats adds a layer of privacy
- Multi-device access: your team can be in the same Telegram chat, so any member can grab the code if needed
How Our 2FA Setup Works Step by Step
- You order an account — Individual ($350) or Corporate ($650)
- We deliver the account credentials — login, password, email access
- We create a private Telegram chat with you and add the number that's connected to the Apple account
- Any SMS sent to that number (including Apple 2FA codes) appears instantly in the chat
- You use the code to complete login or verify any account action
How Long Does 2FA Access Last?
| Period | Cost | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| First 14 days | Free | Included with every account purchase |
| Each additional month | $5/month | Renewable, pay to continue |
| After expiry | — | Number may not be recoverable |
We strongly recommend deciding in advance how long you need 2FA access and renewing before expiry. Once a number becomes inactive, it may be reassigned or become unrecoverable — and that means losing the ability to receive Apple verification codes.
What About Trusting New Devices?
Once you've successfully logged in with 2FA and marked a device as "trusted," you won't need to enter a code again on that device for future logins. This means:
- Your development Mac — trust it once, never need 2FA again
- Xcode on your machine — works seamlessly after the first verified login
- CI/CD systems — can be configured with app-specific passwords, bypassing 2FA entirely
What If I Need 2FA But Don't Have Telegram?
Telegram is free, available on all platforms (iOS, Android, macOS, Windows, Web), and takes 60 seconds to set up. We're yet to meet a developer who doesn't have it. But if for some reason you can't use Telegram, reach out to us in the support chat and we'll find a solution.
Security Best Practices for Your Apple Developer Account
- Don't share login credentials outside your team's Telegram chat
- Change the Apple ID email to one you control (if the account type allows)
- Don't upload apps immediately — the 7-day warranty requires the account to be unused if you want a replacement
- Keep the 2FA chat active — renew monthly if you need ongoing code access
- Use app-specific passwords for CI/CD pipelines so you don't expose the main password
